Nikki Beaumont & Nora Delaney (Nikki & Nora: The N&N Files)

Created by Nancylee Myatt

“Here come the girls!”
— the official theme song (seriously)

Once upon a time, there was a 2004 made-for-television movie, Nikki and Nora, about two female partners (and lovers) in the Special Crimes Unit of the New Orleans police department.

Apparently, it was intended as a pilot for UPN, but it was never picked up and never aired. Somehow, though, the pilot “made its way into the hands of the lucky few,” and the buzz was good.

Or at least good enough that the concept resurfaced a few years later as Nikki and Nora: The N&N Files, a series of seven crowd-funded movies spun off from the 2004 movie, recasting the characters as private eyes, still in New Orleans and still lesbians.

Although I’m not sure those were ever aired, either. In her IMDB bio, creator Nancylee Myatt called the series “a web-reboot,” suggesting they were only streamed online. Some of the episodes, last time I looked, were on YouTube.
