Flip Minnow, P.I. (Kermit the Frog)

Created by Roger Langridge
The Muppets created by Jim Henson

Down those mean streets a frog must go?

KERMIT THE FROG, musician, performer, and banjo player, but probably best known as the beloved hard-working emcee and stage manager of television’s long-running The Muppet Show, may be the hardest working amphibian in show biz, but when he gets knocked on the noggin by a wayward backstage brick, he adds private detective to his CV. He even sports a fedora and trench coat.

As cast and crew (Gonzo! Miss Piggy! Fozzie!) gather round their unconscious comrade, Kermit’s off in Dreamland, imagining he’s FLIP MINNOW, P.I., knocking on doors and taking down names, in a new comic from Dynamite Entertainment.

Naturally, all the usual — and unusual — suspects all appear in Kermit’s dream world, and by the second issue, he’s imagining his first case, a wandering daughter job, searching for Meringue Crustworth, the missing heir of pie tycoon Dolores Crustworth.

But something doesn’t add up, and it doesn’t get any clearer when he teams up with his cop buddy Officer O’Bear (Fozzie).

I’m not sure if this will be an ongoing series or not, or if Flip will eventually make it to the screen, but 2026 does mark the fiftieth anniversary of The Muppet Show, and a possible new TV series is in the works, produced by Seth Rogen.

Hmmm… maybe Flip should team up with Beignet Blanc.
