Henry Archer (The Other/Half)

Created by Jim McCann and Joe Eisma

Released on National Coming Out Day in March 2026 was The Other/Half, a rom-com/mystery mini-series featuring rough-and-tumble NYC private eye and backstreets rambler (he needs a shave and wears a rumpled trench coat)  HENRY ARCHER and his fiancée Ethan Herbst, a suave, sophisticated man-about-town socialite currently on the outs with his hoity-toity Upper East Side clan.

And the relationship with his disapproving family doesn’t get any better when Ethan is fingered for the theft of the priceless Nobility Diamond that was under his care.

To clear Ethan’s name, both men will have to walk a mile or so in each other’s shoes, hence the title of the series.

They’re obviously trying for a sorta queer  Nick and Nora vibe here, with plenty of cocktails, witty repartee and oodles of flirty swellegance flying around. There’s no Asta, but they do have an “adorable” blind cat named Skippy.

There’s also a little of Neil Simon’s Odd Couple at play: Henry usually needs a shave (and maybe a haircut), and a change of clothes and is more of a beer-and whiskey guy (although her cleans up nice), while Ethan is a neat freak, always dapper,  who is taking cooking classes and considers an espresso martini his breakfast drink. It should be noted, though, that Oscar and Felix never shared a bed.

But don’t worry — there’s nothing explicit here to get MAGA all riled up and clutching their pearls. It’s pretty much all G-rated.

So… fun for the whole (modern) family.
