Despite her rough edges, New York private eye HELEN McCORKENDALE seems to always be off somewhere fabulous and wonderful, thanks to her friendship with younger gal pal Laurel Imperiole, senior editor at glitzy Women Now magazine.
Mind you, most of the time it’s to help Laurel out of whatever jam she’s got herself into.
And so it goes, in this very ab fab, very New York series, billed as the “Laurel and Helen New York Mysteries,” that bounces between amateur sleuth cozy and private eye soft-boiled, with a Sex in the City spritz of romance suspense wafting over everything. Laurel sticks her nose into something she’s stumbled upon, and Helen shows up to do the leg work.
Assuming, of course, she’s not too busy being distracted by something yummy and Italian–be it fashion, food or a man.
