A shot to the head leaves Portland, Oregon private detective MYRON VALE with a .38 slug lodged in his brain, one hell of a headache… and the ability to see dead people.

A lot of dead people.

Which turns out to be a great way for him to increase his customer base, now that Myron doesn’t have to limit himself to actual living clients. He works both sides of the line.

Only problem? Sometimes it’s hard for him to tell which is which.

Fortunately for his marriage, he already knows that his wife, Billie, is dead.

Yeah.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Scott William Carter‘s first novel, The Last Great Getaway of the Water Balloon Boys, was hailed by Publishers Weekly as a “touching and impressive debut” and won the Oregon Book Award. Since then, he has published numerous novels and short stories, including a series written under the pen name of Jack Nolte, revolving around another damaged P.I. in the Pacific Northwest, Garrison Gage, although this one doesn’t seem to have much to do with the supernatural. The author lives a stone’s throw from the Oregon coast.
