Not sure how “PI-ish” this 2026 comic book is, but it does have ex-copper turned private eye LANCE WINGMAN as a major character, teaming up with his former partner on the force, Gina Serene, a burned-out, pill-popping detective charged with squelching a worker’s uprising in the corporate-controlled, robot-dominated hellscape of 2125 London.
It’s some kinda world, alright, where everything — including the police —are controlled by the omnipotent Overcon Corporation, intent on using its robot work force to rebuild London’s Central City into “a hyper-modern megalopolis bolted together in its own image.”
Sounds like a plan, right?
Now if only those pesky disgruntled humans would just stop interfering…
The whole thing comes courtesy of British comics legend Joe Palmer, who’s responsible for the words and quirky, sharp-edged (robotic?) artwork, and even handles the lettering chores, serving up what looks to be — judging by the first issue — a cheeky mix of social commentary, satire, humor, and wordplay.
