The Pacesetters series was a collection of works of popular fiction for young adult readers written by notable African authors, and published by Macmillan, starting in 1977
I have no idea whether the book is good or not, but you’ve just got to love that hokey cover. I’m not sure if it was done tongue-in-cheek or not, but I love it — the cheesy Harlequin-ish pinks and turquoises, the smooching couple, and the where’d he come from? dude with the dagger creeping up behind them. Just love it.
