Edwin Bousfield

Created by B. L. Farjeon
(1838-1903)

Early private detective EDWIN BOUSFIELD only appeared in one novel (as far as I can tell), The Tragedy of Featherstone  (1887),  but his habit of relentlessly pacing back and forth while grilling suspects during interrogations was likened by his wife to “a caged tiger,” according to The Crime Fighters.

Edwin’s creator, Benjamin Leopold Farjeon, was a prolific English novelist, playwright, printer and journalist.
