Private investigator JEFF WOODARD is one smooth operator; a slick young man about town; tall, handsome and smart, tooling around in a spiffy red sports car. He’s the owner and chief operative of his own thriving small business in Knoxville, Tennessee: Mourning Dove Investigations. There’s a large tree trunk in the middle of the office, another investigator, Virginia, and, oh yes, an office bobcat called Bobbie.
When we first meet him in the series debut, Murder on the Lake of Fire (2017), EMORY ROME is just twenty-three, but he’s already got a reputation as a hot shot at the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, headquartered in Knoxville. His very success, however, has ruffled a few feathers, and when he’s assigned a case in Barter Ridge, the small town in the Smoky mountains where he grew up, things come to a head.
And just to complicate things, he keeps running into this tall dude who drives a red sports car, and there seems to be some weird sexual attraction thing going on between the two of them.
Of course, after meeting cute in the first book, their relationship soon blossoms into something else entirely, and by the second book in the series, Emory has become Jeff’s new partner.
If you know what I mean…
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Mikel J. Wilson received plenty of praise for his first book, Sedona: The Lost Vortex, a sci-fi novel based on that Northern Arizona town’s legends of energy vortexes and inter-dimensional travel, and he doersn’t skimp on the woo-woo stuff in his new Mourning Dove Mysteries, either.
