All things considered, long-time pit boss at the Las Vegas Sands Brooklyn-born EDDIE GIANELLI would probably rather cruise some broads or just chill with his Rat Pack pals Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop.

But as de facto troubleshooter for the world famous casino and resort, “the swingingest hot spot on the Strip”, he seems to always be helping someone out of a jam or another, be it protecting Dino from death threats in one book, figure out why there’s a stiff in the tub in Frankie’s room or ease Sammy out from under a nasty bit of blackmail.

Along the way, he does all the standard P.I. things, plus he gets to rub shoulders with such swingin’ dames as Marilyn and Angie. And if you don’t know who I’m talking about, bub, you might as well cash in your chips. In fact, this might be the schmooziest, most name-droppingest series since Stuart Kaminsky’s Toby Peters series)

Although he’s probably better known for the 534 million westerns he’s written, Robert J. Randisi is, of course, the founder of The Private Eye Writers of America, and is also responsible for Manhattan-based P.I. Miles Jacoby, Brooklyn gumshoe Nick Delvecchio and New York Racing Commission investigator Henry Po. They’re all equally good, and equally recommended.
