BRONZE GOLDBERG?
“Bronze”?
Well, whatever…
In Blood & Mascara (2024), it’s the 1990s in Washington, DC, where politics, as always, makes for strange bedfellows, but it’s also making money for private peeper Bronze, who has a knack for nailing cheating spouses.
There’s an unapologetic retro pulp vibe here, with the women randy and the “hyper-masculine” Bronze more than ready. Like femme fatale Caroline, the steamy babe whom he recently caught cheating on his client, and his landlady Iris Margaryan, a romance writer, who thinks Bronze’s life might make a good book.
Of course, this is a DC already awash in crime, AIDS, drugs, and corruption, where dirty secrets abound (Bronze has a few of them himself), and when the congressman Caroline was involved with is murdered, and the bullets begin to fly and the bodies start to pile up, even Bronze’s Olympics-level judo skills may not be enough.
