Also I am surprised to find no mention of Rabbi David Small the detective Rabbi in the …Sunday the Rabbi…series of books I enjoyed.
And finally, would the saint and the toff and the baron be considered criminals or detectives ? given the tv history there is a lot of detecting evildoers going on.
I can’t find any link for a Rex Stout interview, Anthony, so I can’t correct it. I have over three thousand pages (and counting) bouncing around here.
As for Rabbi Small, he isn’t a private eye, in any way, shape or form — which is what this site is devoted to. There is some wiggle room (usually listed under the tag “It’s My Prerogative…”), but the Rabbi may be a bridge too far.
As for criminal/detectives, they may or may not make the cut as private eyes. The Saint certainly does,
