Almost thirty “good Italian girl” ANGELA “ANGIE” MATELLI is a former Marine turned Boston private eye who knows how to take care of herself, and isn’t afraid to give justice a little nudge in the right direction every now and then. Her best pal is Raina, the East Boston police dispatcher and, despite the sticky, interfering tentacles of a loving family, does try to keep in touch with her kid sister Rosa.
Angie was one of the more interesting female eyes of her era, part of the 80/90s boom of female eyes, with aa real working-class sense of spunk that added greatly to the series. She made her debut in a short story published in the premiere issue of Noir, a now-defunct comic book-size mystery magazine, and went on to appear in five novels and a handful of other short stories.
