Delvina Salvastano Kline

Created by Rachel Scott McDaniel

Good girl DELVINA SALVASTANO KLINE wasn’t born with a silver spoon in her mouth, but she sure grew up with one, adopted into a wealthy and influential New York City family in the 1920s.

Only problem was that her birth father was a notorious gangster, and so in a way it was simply swapping one family (“The Family”) for another with a better reputation.

Well, slightly. The gloss doesn’t really stick, and Delvina finds herself tarnished in her social circle as a curiosity and a “misfit”

So what’s a girl to do, except become a private investigator?  One who, in the course of an investigation, crosses paths with her hunky ex-beau detective Kent Brisbane of the NYPD.

That’s the premise in the romance-heavy The Dreams We Knew (2025), which also promises “gentle undertones of faith.”

Which is no surprise — it was published by Kregel Publications, an Evangelical Christian book publisher based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
