Naomi Blake

Created by Jane A. Adams

Feisty, strong-willed NAOMI BLAKE was a rather brilliant detective inspector for the coppers in England’s Midlands — until a major car accident on the motorway put an end to a promising career — and left her blind.

Forced to retire, she nonetheless continues to offer her services to the police as a sort of unofficial consultant, aided by her boyfriend (and later husband), Detective Inspector Alec Friedman, her over-sized black guide dog Napoleon and some mad computer skills. All while struggling to adjust to her new life and establishing some kind of independence.

Imagine the old Longstreet series as re-imagined by Val McDermid, and you’re almost there…

NOTE

In 2025, the entire series was revised and updated, reprinted with spiffy new covers, with several of the books retitled, and various errors corrected.
