Got yourself in a little jam in the Washington, DC area? You could do worse than quirky 's mouthpiece/gumshoe PRICHARD HALE. He uses his local cop friend, Amos Freyer and his half-in-the-bottle good buddy, Franky Angelino. Prich might have an alley cat moral mentality and slip out on his girlfriend, Kate McCain, but he's always faithful to his clients.

Prich's creator, Robert C. Nienkemper, informs me that Prich might be in the running for Agatha award, "Best First Mystery Novel". Prich's debut, 1998's Fatal Games, has already been nominated for Best Fiction in 1998 by the Library of Virginia.
